Kozarska Cave
The Kozarska cave in Bulgaria is a part of the Lakatnik Karst Area. It is situated in the plateau where the Proboinitsa river joins Iskar River.
The entrance of the Kozarska cave is high over the Proboinitza river and it is difficult to be seen by an ordinary visitor or tourist. The cave is called “Kozarska” (Goat cave) because in order to reach it you have to climb up a steep and narrow track, which resembles a trail for goats. Its entrance is quite enormous with a spacious antechamber that is usually used as a bedroom.
The Kozarska cave itself is actually quite small in size and only the previously fallen on the floor quartz crystals reminds visitors of its former beauty despite its simbolic dimentions. There are two corridors which lead to the only hall of the cave. Trough the cracks of its ceiling the foots of the once enormous quartz geodes can be seen.
